In an ideal world, the best way to ensure maximum production uptime is for all the system experts to be on site 24/7 . This, clearly, is not practical and so to help maintain production KTJ Technologies has developed Remote Diagnostics Services which ensure the system experts are never far away.  RDS reduces the need to travel to the site thus saving money. KTJ Technologies performs the following services: Corrective Maintenance,  Preventative Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance and Quarterly Health Checks. 

Case 1

Customer was having trouble with Current Ripple Faults on their ABB 1500 HP DCV700 drive on the west coast. They were considering onsite service however elected RDS due to the cost of air fare, expenses, travel time etc. The test equipment including laptop loaded with ABB diagnostic software and Fluke View software was shipped out via next day air. The customer connected the 4-channel oscilloscope  and ABB diagnostic hardware. Using Remote Desktop Software, the problem was readily identified and resolved within a few hours. The Fluke View Software allowed for remote control of the oscilloscope settings and real time viewing.

Case 2

A customer was having unexplained weekly shutdowns of their ABB ACS800 Ultra Low Harmonic drives causing significant amount of lost production. While onsite it was recommended to use RDS to capture this weekly event. The laptop with Drive Windows 2.40 was left on the site and after two events it was determined the Main Control Word run bit was dropping from the PLC due to a programming issue.

Case 3

Customer was having intermittent Overcurrent Faults every couple of weeks causing loss of production. Using RDS this fault was observed using Drive Windows 2.40 High Speed Data Logger. The Data Logger was set to capture data 25 msec before the fault and 75 msec after the fault with a 1 msec sample rate. Once the fault occurred the data logger was uploaded, and it was evident the Run Command cycled on and off for 6 msec. The problem was eventually traced down to a problem in the customer PLC.
